BIFM / TATA EVENT
Last month Area Sq hosted the first of a two part BIFM’s Rising FMs event at 33 Grosvenor Place.
The first event on April the 14th was a huge success welcoming over 55 attendees. The evening was held on the stripped out floor which Area Sq is to refurbish for TATA Consulting Services.
The idea behind the series of events was to give attendees the opportunity to see a fit-out from its concept to completion. Those invited followed the project’s journey to date, seeing the site as a shell and through to understanding how Area Sq’s designers planned to achieve TATA’s required space.
Area Sq’s Oliver Hammond, MD of London and Rob Young opened the event with a presentation focusing on the background of the project. They explained the key ingredient to any fit-out project was the relationship with their client. Oliver went on to say that their relationship with TATA was a strong one, and as a result of this, the current project was the fourth Area Sq had embarked with them. The project’s designers Amanda Godwin-Jones and Lauren Daw then took the lead and demonstrated through design boards how they had met project’s requirements. They showed the initial concepts, with samples of the specified materials, furniture selections and the technical requirements.
Afterwards the event continued long in to the evening with refreshments and an opportunity to network.
This unique way of demonstrating a project’s life cycle was met with great enthusiasm and interest at the event. Area Sq envisage being on site to begin this project very soon. The final event showing the finished space will be on completion of the tight 13 week fit-out. In the interim, a campaign is being launched to follow the project’s development over the 13 week timeline. Area Sq will project live daily updates from the site to show progress of this fantastic office fit-out.
