AWD

Location: City of London

Size: 14,000 sq ft

Contract Value: £670,000

Project Overview

Area Sq was appointed for the interior design and fit-out of AWD's new London Office. The 9 weeks fit-out programme was completed on time and on budget in December 2004.

Originally Thomson's Group, AWD is Europe's premier independent financial services group. The relocations objective was to consolidate three existing sites (Hatton Garden, Victoria, and St. Albans), into a single location and bring AWD's 120 City staff together.

Result

With the aim to facilitate internal communication between business units, the design comprises open plan areas and communal facilities such as break-out areas, meeting and conference rooms. The design reflects their new corporate identity.

The London Stock Exchange building, which was officially opened by the Queen in July 2003, offers dramatic views over St. Paul's Cathedral. Paternoster Square is a highly desirable location, which is set to become a new focus for the business community in the City of London.

"We are delighted with the final result, the quality of work is excellent"

Jeremy Thomason, Group Financial Director, AWD
